Kubb Toss

Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 June 2026

Kubb Toss is a single-player game, made by me, James Hemson. There are no accounts, and I never ask for any personal information. The only thing the app collects is anonymous gameplay stats, so I can see how the game's played and where new players get stuck.

What I don't collect

  • No name, email, phone number, or contacts.
  • No account or sign-in.
  • No precise location.
  • No advertising identifier (IDFA), and no ads.
  • No tracking of you across other apps or websites.

What I do collect (anonymous stats)

The app sends a small, fixed set of anonymous gameplay events to my analytics provider, PostHog. None of it is linked to your identity. The events are:

  • App launched.
  • Onboarding started and completed (including whether it was the first run or a replay).
  • Match started.
  • Match completed (who won, how the game ended, and the CPU difficulty).
  • Match abandoned (which part of the game you left from).

Each event carries some standard technical context too: the app version, device model, operating system version, and language, plus a random ID generated on your device that isn't tied to you personally. Automatic screen and lifecycle tracking are switched off, so those events above are the only things sent.

Who handles it

PostHog handles the analytics on its EU Cloud, with servers in the European Union. As part of any internet request, PostHog's servers see your device's IP address. It might be used to work out a rough region (country or city, say), and I don't store it as a precise location. PostHog is my service provider: I don't sell your data, and I don't share it with anyone else for their own use. PostHog's own privacy info is at posthog.com/privacy.

Children

Kubb Toss is fine for all ages and collects nothing personal, so it's safe for children to play.

Your choices

Since the stats are anonymous, there's no account to dig up or delete. If you'd rather the app sent nothing at all, delete it and that's that. Questions are always welcome, my email's just below.

Changes

If any of this changes, I'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.
